Kunwar Kaur is the director of MK Nursing academy and an experienced nursing educator. Kunwar is driven by her passion for understanding the needs of the nursing profession and providing quality education to novice and professional nurses. Her critical care nursing background in public and private health and education sectors informs her mindful but competitive approach. She considers herself a ‘forever student’, eager to build on her academic foundations in nursing research and stay in tune with clinical skills through continued study and professional development. 

Kunwar’s hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action has led to many successful postgraduate, undergraduate and international nurses. One of Kunwar’s major strengths is recognising the strengths and weaknesses of international nurses and using them to their benefit. Kunwar strongly believes that international nurses are an asset to the Australian health sector. With correct training, each international nurse can successfully achieve their Australian nursing registration.  

Kunwar started her career as an international nurse in Australia and has been practising as a critical care nurse for almost 13 years. She completed her Master of Nursing (cardiac care) in 2008 and is currently a PhD candidate at ECU, Western Australia. 

Kunwar has extensive nursing experience, which includes working at the bedside, in the nursing management and education roles. Along with hospital experience, Kunwar has vast education experience, which provides for teaching undergrad and post-graduate nursing students at universities (Deakin University and Victoria University). She has also taught numerous international nurses from across the world in classroom settings and simulation skill sessions. 

Kunwar’s clinical knowledge and experience in training international nurses for successful hospital placements make her the perfect trainer for objective structured clinical examination (OSCE).
